Privacy Policy

How Aevo collects, uses, and protects your health and personal data.

Short version: Your health data stays on your device and in your iCloud account. We never sell your data. We never share it with third-party advertisers. The only external services we use are OpenAI (for the AI Coach) and Firebase (for account sync) — both under strict data processing agreements.

1. Who we are

Aevo is developed and operated by Vladimir Ciumacenco. References to "we," "us," or "our" refer to the Aevo app and its developer. You can reach us at vladimir.ciumacenco27@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

Health data (via Apple HealthKit): With your explicit permission, Aevo reads the following from Apple Health:

This data is read locally on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers in identifiable form.

Meal data: When you use the Meal Scan feature, photos you take are sent to OpenAI's API to identify food and estimate macronutrients. These images are processed and immediately discarded — OpenAI does not store them beyond the API call per their enterprise data processing agreement.

Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address and a secure identifier via Firebase Authentication. This is used only to sync your app preferences across devices.

AI Coach conversations: Messages you send to the AI Coach are sent to OpenAI's API along with relevant anonymized context from your health data (e.g., "user's HRV today is 62ms"). These conversations may be stored on your device for continuity but are not stored on our servers.

Purchase data: In-app purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive purchase status (active/expired) but not your payment card details.

Crash reports and analytics: We may collect anonymized crash logs via Firebase to help us fix bugs. This data contains no health information.

3. How we use your data

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for third parties, or selling to data brokers.

Your health data is stored locally on your iPhone using iOS secure storage (Keychain and Core Data). We use HTTPS for all network communication. Firebase data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

We retain account data (email, preferences) until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Aevo after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
